New Zealand Blackfoot Paua otherwise known as Black Gold by locals is one many seafood delicacies New Zealand has to offer. Our Paua is predominantly harvested from the Wairarapa Coast (sometimes the Chatham Islands) and is wild-caught by divers by hand. It has a distinct flavour that’s compared to steak rather than other shellfish with a calamari like texture, it’s simply delicious.
